Got home today and my Albino RSG and one of my Piwo RTs were at it at the cone. This will be my first pair ever. Just waiting on their breeding tank to finish cycling and we will see what happens. I can only see a few eggs, of course they are on the back side of the cone.

So after watching for a bit the albino RSG is the female and the RT is a male. From my understanding they both seem to be doing their job. Female passes and lays eggs and the male fallows and you know ;). Must be around 50 eggs by now.

albino RSG look more like the male to me ... and if RT is a male, he's too young, but good luck

You said pair, so did you get wiggly to confirm if they are actually a pair (Male/Female). I just didn't want you to think you have a pair and you can get two female. Hopefully you get wiggle to get a confirm pair... good luck...

You could be right. I am assuming male/female just because their parts which are now exposed look different. The RSG's is pretty thick and the RT's is skinny. Again I am new so I could have it all wrong.

Just added some pure balls to the breeding tank. Hopefully it will be ready in several weeks. I tried to get a count of eggs during the water change, I would say there are 50-60 of them. I don't expect them to progress as it is a new pair (hopefully ;)) and they are in aged tap with 8.2ph. The breeding tank will have a tap RO mix so my TDS is around 90. Any advise on acclimating the fish to the breeding water once they are in the new tank?

Wait and see if you can get wiggler in your tap water first than if it doesn't work slowly ad more RO water every water change in the breeder tank. You never know till you try I breed in hard water with no problems.

Got home today and they ate all the eggs. We will see what happens when I get them in their own tank.
