looking for info on the new aquatop canister filter CT 600 UV

hello i was hoping to get some input on this canister filter vs Marineland or aquaclear over the rim filter
how would the UV part be that is in the aquatop canister be i have a 150 gallon tank bare bottom that i would like to turn into a show tank

Most canister filters with internal UV are useless for anything but green water control. If I was you I would first check into the cost of the replacement bulb before I purchased it, and if it is even available.

Another downside would be if you can't turn off the UV.
If you ever have to medicate your fish, most meds say to turn off UV.

I have the cf 500 and love it. You can turn off the UV. I bought a second smaller one I liked it so much. I am curious why Rick says the UV filter would be useless except for green water control if used within the canister??? Rick?

I have a cf 500 and an xp4 and I like the cf 500 over the xp4.I don't know about the ct 600

the wattage of the bulb/flow rate are severly underpowered
