I just did my routine 70% wc at my 75 G tank and i noticed that my discus were all breathing faster than usual so i did a water test and guess what...after so long apparently i have NITRITE problem now...
Would salt+more wc help reduce nitrite?

Test your source water for nitrites too.

There could be nitrite in my source water? I thought source water should be nitrite/ammonia free lol...

I would check it just to rule it out. Otherwise you are going through a mini cycle. Prime/safe and salt can help with nitrites

Dose 3x the normal dose of safe or prime. Increase filtration if possible.

Did you over clean filtration?

I'd also say its from your water source. They aren't supposed to have ammonia/nitrite, but that doesn't mean they never do. Use some prime and call it good. Your bacterial population will take it out pretty quick.

Hahaha...you guys wont believe what i did. Apparently i stupidly added small dose of methylene blue to the 75G and ofcourse the med is known to kill BB and so the nitrite spikes as i was losing BB...
Levels are back to what they suppose to be as i did another wc and cleaned the fluval306 all the left over methylene blue...oh why did I do that...
Thanks for the tips guys.
