Hi everyone,
My fish from Josie and Miranda arrive this morning. The box was huge! After I managed to open it I found 3 beautiful fish in a toasty warm box swimming around happily in there bags.
Here is what I ordered:
X2 6 inch piwow red Turks
X1 5.5 inch piwow red Turk
It's been an hour and half or so since the fish have been tanked and they are settling in nicely. Those of you that are looking to buy new fish I highly recommend josie and Miranda. A++
Here are some pics:

The pictures just don't do these fish justice :)
Thanks again Josie and Miranda for your professional service.

They look amazing... you'll enjoy them a lot... Congratz... BTW, keep the lights off for a day or two until they are settle in... It will help them stay less stress and start eating quicker... Good luck...

Usually that's result of ammonia burn on the tail either during shipping or during acclimating your fish... It will go away in a few day with clean water... How did you acclimate the fish? Drip or Drop and Plop?

Josie told me to drip them...and thats what I did

Drip is fine as long as you don't use the bag water in the bucket. The water in the bag will have high ammonia levels, but during shipping the ph will have dropped and protect the fish from the Ammonia spike. With low PH Ammonia turns into harmless Ammonium. So unless you use the bag water it will cause some burn when the water's PH rise during drip acclimating (Hopefully you empty the bag water out and put the fish in a clean bucket with fresh tank water. I prefer the drop and plop method for all fish bought overnight...

Today, also watch the ammonia in the tank due to adding the fish (additional bio-load) to the QT. Nice fish. I will have to come over and drool over your fish. I sold my piwow group a couple of weeks ago.

Yea that's from dripping acclimation, once you open the bags and expose the bag water to the air the ammonia builds up very fast. When I do the drip method I usually pour some tank water in the bucket before. Start the drip as to neutralize the ammonia. That will go away in time just keep the water clean and aged and the temperature around 82. I should have explained the drip method a little better I apologize.......Josie

That one fish in the first/fourth pic (it's the same fish, right?) is very nice! Pat or I need to get you a BN pleco or a snail to stay on top of that algae between your glass wipe-downs. ;) Between the two of us we should have a boatload of plecos now, right Pat? lol

Ryan, I need to set my BNs up with caves and put some females with a male to get them going on the breeding. I take it that you will soon have a fire sale on BN Plecos. :)

I think my pair has spawned but I keep them in my 150 and the cichlids probably made dinner out of fry. Once the BNs from Ardan grow a bit more I'll swap them out and give the pair their own tank with some Endler's.

Sorry to hijack the thread! Lol

No not the same fish. Do look similar though. :) hoping to get a pair outta these three. One is a proven female and I think the other two are males ;)

Thanks. I was wondering if the mouth/beak got better as it grew out. It does not appear so. It is still a nice a fish though.
