So I know I have a while yet as my babies are still young. I have some blue cobalts with snakeskin gene making them all metallic looking I also have some super reds. I was just wondering if a pair came out of these of a blue and a red what color would the offspring be? Obviously I know they wont be purple lol but would I just get blues and reds or would it mix somehow?

Breeder called them super red theyre not pigeon blood theyre solid red and the parents are solid red. The blues are solid blue with both parents being solid blue. Both sets came from the same breeder. No pigeon blood as far as I know. The reds are very red like blood red.

Lol I know im not really considering breeding I was just curious. Theyre about 3 months old and about the size of a half dollar or silver dollar. Theyre in a 40 tall right now moving them to a 56 gallon tall in about a month soon as the water gets set up. We do water changes all the time lol. Im sure my water comp is like what the heck is going on

Hi,

Are these fish from Joe Gargas? If so, his "super reds" are indeed red pigeon blood discus. You can see here that not all will be solid red, some will have white pearling:

If you cross them with the blues which are non-pigeon types you're likely to have peppered fry.

Put a pre-filter on your Aqua-Clear or the tank will get nasties that you don't want. Have fun growing them out ............Josie

Hey thanks Josie for the advice. Im getting a canister on payday to add to the aquaclear. I love the aquaclears but it does need a pre filter. So well run both and hopefully have a sparkling tank.
