Hi

Im currently running a 30 gallon tank with 9 juvies
3 are 1 inch
4 are 1.5 inch
2 are 2 inches
Is this okay?

2 sponge filter and 1 airstone
Wc twice a day is it too much? Aged ph stable at 8
Feeding only beefheart twice a day multiple servings‚ too few?

Sounds like you are doing fine. They will out grow the tank so start looking for a 75 gallon soon. With twice daily changes you could squeeze in another feeding

A 30 gallon tank is fine for very small juvies, especially since you are doing 2 water changes per day - good job! =)

For the feedings, so long as they are eating all of the beefheart at each feeding you are fine. If they are begging for more food when you walk past the tank, try giving them a bit extra and see if they eat it all within 5 minutes. That's the only way to know how much they should eat...there's no sure fire formula.

As they grow, they will need more...so watch for the begging and test to see if they actually will eat more.

What is the ideal size before i moved them to a bigger tank?

Usually a 55 or 75 gallon.

I'd move them at about 3.5". They can move into a 55g at that point. Mine don't like the 75g at that size...it's too big and they end up hiding in the corners near the filters. Some people buy the 75 and just put a divider into the tank so that the littler discus don't get lost. Once they reach 4+", they remove the divider and let them roam in the whole tank,

Usually a 55 or 75 gallon.

Hi camuth i meant the discus‚ is there a ideal inch before moving them out in a grow out tank?

I would move them when they reach about 3.5 to 4 continue doing big WC cause with them growing and little room waste will add up quickly and water levels can go down just as quick.
