Hi All,

I want to put some peat in my filter.
Here in the UK, due to environmental regulations, moss based peat is becoming quite difficult to track down.
I have found a garden centre that sells sedge peat.
Would that be ok to use?

Sedge peat is less acidic and contains more nitrogen than sphagnum peat, I would not recommend it. Is Moorland Gold brand peat available near you? It is a sphagnum peat which is harvested in a non-destructive manner and is popular among carnivorous plant growers in the UK.

I have not seen Mooreland Gold

I can get Westland. But i have heard that it contains a percentage of non peat additives. Not sure if that is true or not.
