I came home and found eggs on the sponge filter. They are proven White Butterfly pair from Vietnam. Can the eggs hatch under these conditions?

Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate=0
PH=7.4
Hardness (from city of Mississauga report)=112-130
TDS=170-180

Thank you,

If they are fertile, they should be able to hatch. The parents may very well move them.

Hey Vansu buddy.. nice looking pair.
Check your readings as your nitrate should not be O. Should be around 10 plus or minus.
You guys out west have rock hard tap and should read higher into the multiple hundreds. I'm in Toronto and our tap comes in at 260.
Joe(Moon) had pairs spawn and hatch in 400 plus and he is in Burlington just further west of you.
Good luck with these guys.

Well I got my pair on about 80-90 wriggler using age tap water only. Free swimmer any day now. It can be done.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I took the eggs out after the second spawn and that turn out to be a failure and the pair seem to be very good the second time too. I caught them in the act when they were in action and it was my first ever discus spawn live. I had the video and will post it soon. They are cleaning the pvc pipe again and I think they will spawn again in a day or two. I will keep the eggs in there and see what happen. Thanks again guys :)

Thanks Ralph. My girlfriend and I love this white butterfly pair so we are keeping it :). I think I round down on the reading for nitrate, the colour look similar lol. I hope I will see some wigglers.

They are in their 4th spawns now and 3 of them are unsuccessful but I am still not giving up hopes.

Hi Van, They sure hatch. I am rearing my batch artificially. (Blue and Red Melon Pair that I got from you)
