Problem

1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
white eye since last night

2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).


3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.

Tank/Water

4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
55 g, 2 red turqs almost 2 yrs old, 1 tangerine about 6 months, 8 cardinal tetra, 1 german blue ram

5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).

50% weekly
6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?

7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.

if it just happened as you mentioned.. it could be eye injury.. maybe it got startled and ran into something pointy..

do you have driftwood in the tank? or other sharp objects.. what other fish are in there besides discus?

that fish does not look to healthy.. have you been having problems with it before?

Up your water changes.Nothing clears up stuff like that then clean water.

I use ro water and the ph is really low and when i tested the gh/kh they were both the lowest possible values on the test kit. not sure if I'm having ph swings because my ph is so low that it always just shows up as 6 on my tests. but ive added ph up before and had to do several doses before i reached 6.2. not sure if my water is the issue or not. His stress bars come up really bad if ever try to follow him around the tank to get a picture, but he usually has good color and he eats well

Weekly water changes it’s not enough, you need to do that daily...... Don't mess with PH, don’t try to change it just keep it stable..... Also I don’t see a need to use RO water, you can use tap water....... some people don’t believe in regular water changes but it’s a must if you want to keep healthy and beautiful discus.

i have to use ro cause my nitrates are through the roof on my well water
