What are everyone's thoughts on using an RO unit on your water before adding it to your tanks.
I'm thinking of getting one and would like to hear peoples thoughts.
At the moment in adding supachlor to a 50 lt bin and letting it age for 24 hrs. I have 2 bins. But this can be very time consuming. I have no room for any more or larger aging drums in my fish room.
What are your thoughts.
Cheers Marty

Your water in Cairns should be ok. Only use RO to lower TDS / conductivity for breeding if they being difficult. Discus need some minerals and nutrients that are in the water. If you use RO there is around 70% reject water per litre and also you need to remineralise total RO water before adding to the tank.
Do you get a big PH swing from when the water is put into the bin till 24hrs? If you don't there is no need for aging.

Ok. No I don't get a huge swing.
I think I'm confusing myself with an RO unit with filter canisters.
What I'm trying to achieve is being able to put mains water after it has gone through some filtration system, into tanks
