I had a pair like that they liked being patted and so much they lost intrest in spawning and just wanted attention.

I have had a lot of them that I could pet. Pretty easy to do if you hand feed them.

I think the fish is awesome although I've never really quite had a desire to pet my fish. But then my avatar kinda speaks as to why. lol lol. "T"

I don't think this is atypical for Cichlids. I had an Oscar that let me do that.

I don't think this is atypical for Cichlids. I had an Oscar that let me do that.

It still surprises me a pair is so chilled out about it. My angel pair goes absolutely nuts as soon as they can see me across the room, even when they aren't on eggs.

i wish mine were like this. they let me feed them but as soon as my fingers move they all swim backwards, maybe it just takes time
