Pro Growth Grow Out Thread

So i heard about Andrew Soh's Pro Growth formula and decided to try it out for myself.
I bought the formula through Mr. Soh himself via paypal. I also bought some 3 incher fishes from local breeders. All Hi Body.

Scared and you wont think 6 of them will fit that corner.

After disinfection using PP and yellow powder. I get to acclimate them to the new tank.

Thanks to my ever reliable diy overhead filter, and Azoo 11 in 1 bio bacteria. My water quality is in top condition for fish to fully recover.

Attached is how i make my overhead sump.

- 1st layer Sera wool filter
- 2nd layer Bio Koi Foam
- 3rd layer EHEIM PRO Ceramic Balls
- 4th layer Plastic Bio Balls
- 5th layer UP Porous Ceramic for steady PH
- 6th layer before water out Ceramic Media

For maximum bacteria growth

Run tank for 5 days with bacteria before putting fish.

Take Note: Optimum Water Quality is Needed.

Attached below is the picture of the 3 inchers grown to 3.8" and bordering in 3 weeks of pump feed and Pro Growth diet.

I added 3 HB blue dia and
2 Albino Snakeskin from Wayne Ng HK

Healthy clear red eyes and in top condition.

Attached below is a picture of 7 red map pigeon same size with the first time i got the altum flora fed with the same amount of food but no Pro Growth Mix. For comparison.

Diet:

6am BH with Pro Growth
12am Ocean Nutrition
3pm Tetra Bits
6pm Hikari Discus Bio Gold
8pm BH with Pro Growth.

Pro Growth Beefheart Mix:

2.5g to 1 kilo BH Mix

Pro Growth Pellet Mix:

i add 3g to 100ml boiling water for a more concentrated dose and soak pellets in it 10 mins max before feeding.

How is pro grow thread if u don't mention how much or how u are giving it to the fish..

And

U should add prefilter to your intake.. it will help more

Re - edited for your convenience with the Pro Growth dosage.

Regarding the pre filter intake. the build of my overhead sump can only accomodate a certain amount of water flow from the intake. Adding pre filter intake will clog the 1st layer and result to overflow outside the tank in my past experience. Maybe if i have time to revise my overhead sump, i will consider the pre filter intake. Thanks!

Should have bought more fish, to split up in a tank being fed PG, and the other without. Your fish are going to grow with or without it. You have no comparison...Bill

what are the fish in the two tanks.. ?
tank one.. albinos, bd, altum floras..
tank 2 PB.. ?

the reason i ask.. strains have different growth rates & genetics then others and your results may not be very clear..

the best way to get the results you seek.. is to have one spawn split into two groups.. same strains.. same genetics.. only food would be different variable.

Both tanks of fish look good. My issue is that there seems to be different strains in each tank. Most times, certain strains just grow faster/bigger than other strains. I see two strains in the first tank, that IME grow naturally bigger than the PB's in the second tank...Bill

Im putting BDs Albinos and AFs together mainly becuase i want to observe them in a single tank fed with Pro Growth. Observing the BDs and Albinos growth rate with the faster AFs. It's a test i wanted to make on growth rate with maximum pump feed. Other tank is 7 Red Maps without PG and i see a lot of difference with the ones fed PG. Will make more observations, and i welcome all sorts of comments to help me on this study. Thanks people.

With regards to my overhead sump. There is no secret to it. If you want to have same ill make measurements so i can relay DIY method. I don't know if they sell UP Porous ceramic filter media in abroad but that media works excellent for me. If converted to USD it's about $120.00 the EHEIM filter media set is around the same price. For me i put the wool filter on top like everybody does but i dont put soft foam on the next layer, i put koi mat as it is thicker and more durable. Next layers as you can see are ceramic medias diff kinds. I use EHEIM and UP products because IMHO they work really well in bacteria culture stability. UP Porous Ceramic Media also has this PH Stabilizer. I don't know if it works but my fish seem to love this.
