Folks I am going to part with 4 young adult PB that I got from Chad. At least 3 of them are female and I think they may all be. I really don't want to ship right now but might later if I don't get some local interest. I will take $150 each if you take all four. If you want less than that they are $200 each. Here are some really poor cell phone pictures.

Could I ask you guys what maybe perceived as a dumb question.

Stendker fish have a very distinct shape. They are not round. They appear a bit longer. Before anybody jumps on my case, I have many Stendker and find them to be beautiful.

I understand that these fish both come from Stendker parents. However they appear to be very circular in shape. I love the shape of these fish.

Can this be explained? Were they hand selected as juvies?

Excellent job with the grow out.

Thanks...almost like I have done it before...LOL.

I have seen some very, very round Stendker but I know what you mean. I picked these out of a tank in Atlanta when they were 2 - 2 1/2 inches. What they have gotten is lots of water changes and beef heart twice a day. I know some think discus have to be fed 700 times a day but apparently they don't. I have always said a person cen grow better fish that they can buy but it takes a little work.

Thank again.

John, how big are these?

I will have to measure them. I would guess on these to be roughly 6 inch fish.

They are still looking good. 5 of them are laying eggs and I still hope that the other 1 (or the 2 new ones I bought from Chad ) ends up being a male.

John-

Actually, I may have room. Do you have a female that's not spoken for yet? If the one with more orange is female, I'd like it.

I consider it yours then. When do you want to come get her?

I don't suppose you could hold her until this coming Friday or Saturday? I have two fish in quarantine right now, but they should be out by then - they are doing great so far. I would be happy to pay you now if you have a PayPal account.

I don't mind holding her but I might be out of town. We will work it out.

Quick question, guys: I saw somewhere that you don't want to mix Stendkers with Asian-bred discus because they are accustomed to different types of bacteria. Since these PB's came from Stendkers and all of my fish are either Malaysian or bred in the U.S. (probably originally from Malaysian stock, but I'm not sure), do you foresee any issues? Or is that an old-wives tale?

Healthy fish are healthy fish, sick fish are such....does not matter wheer they came from. What they were talking about is best described by what the Native Americans went though when the Europeans first came over. I doubt you have any issues.

Good analogy. I guess if you're mixing fish from different breeders, you always have the potential for immunity issues. I plan to quarantine, use a hero fish, and monitor closely anyway, so it should be okay.

John- Just a quick update on the pigeon you sold me. She's out of quarantine and doing well in her new home. Here are a few pics. She's a super-nice fish.
