Yea, that always bothers me when i see it as well, but there is noting you can do about it unfortionaly.
I find it I'm very lucky that I found SimplyDiscus. also I use it to remind me to do my best to keep them.

The pigeon in the first picture , aside from being severely peppered , has small pupils. The orange around the eye is almost covering the entire eye.
Second picture, discus on the right side of the angelfish . That discus aside from looking dark , looks like it has cataracts .

I go to this lfs just because the blood worms are good brand and cheap, one time they had 2 tanks of discus, one of 2 inch discus and the other at 5-6 inch. 2 inch where looking healthy at 40 dollars and big ones 150 dollars. One of the big ones where on the brink of death, I'm talking solid black, that sick I didn't know what type of discus it was swimming on its side and on its back lower body it looked like it's flesh was just eaten away, I was horrified, don't they notice this? Anyway I went back a week later and amazingly it was still alive but was put in with the fry. ... I asked y and they said we moved him with them for cheaper price due to faded color! I called him a a stupid retard he is obviously sick and cause of his stupidity he just infected all his fry with the diseased sick discus. Never went back. I tell you some places just have no idea

Yuck, I saw a tank at my LFS with only 4 adult discus in it, two gasping for air at the top, two hiding, all looking dark and sick, dirty water - I can't imagine who would buy them.
