I have no intentions of doing so, but, ...I have 4 Discus and have never seen any breeding behavior at all. Is it possible I have all females/males? 1 is 3 years old and the other 3 I have had for 1 year and a half. Just curious.

Possible but unlikely. I don't know the answer but I do know that the most nature thing for healthy, happy animals to do is to reproduce so if they are not doing that something is probably not quite right. If they were all female they would still lay eggs, if they were all males they might still show breeding behaviors although they would never go through the act of spawning. I have seen 2 male discus do the shiver and clean a breeding surface more than once.

I have noticed them chasing each other on occasion. The oldest one is the largest and there is another one that is close to his/her size that sort of spar once in a while, but, I don't think it is breeding behavior. Hmmm...maybe it is. Thanks John.
