MWDH meeting

Thanks to all who attended this Saturday's MWDA meeting. Let's see how many names I can remember after all of Bill's whiskey. Jim, Grace, Ben, Dawn, Coree, Brandon, Bill, Wes, Allwin, Saykham, Tim, (Tim's friend, sorry forgot that one), Brandon, Jeff, and Mike. 14 out of 15, not too bad.

It was a grand time talking discus and I'm really glad I was able to match up Brandon with Jim and Dawn. It's always a pleasure to match up good people. I'm glad everyone came and I hope you had as much fun as I did. Although I may be cursing Bill in the morning depending how the head feels then. :D

I can not say how wonderful it was to meet all the people you yelled at me on the forum:). Seriously it was a great bunch of people with a whole lot of experience under one roof. I can honestly say this is one of the nicest bunch of people I have ever met talking about discus. This is going to be one incredible organization Mid-West style.

After the Chicago mafia left Brandon and I had one last whiskey to kill the bottle, flipped on the tube and hung out with my wife for a while. Seems like we watched the end of some comedy movie, but I'll be danged if I can remember what it was. :)

That picture was taken pretty early, I'm sure that wasn't the case yet. I was probably just sitting there admiring Grace and Dawn, they were a pretty nice upgrade to the motley original MWDA members.

Thanks for bringing the beer Tim, it was appreciated by many. It may be a while before I get to your gift, I've got a lot of leftovers to clean up first. Working on cleaning up an orange shandy right now.

I think John that it was actually decided last night that this is a real group.Keiths the one that has kept it alive, most get togethers were only 4-5 people at best with the D-for discus being substituted for "drinking".But this summer had a little bigger group at Jeffs,and this time 14 people at Keiths.Actually did more fish club things,had a group buy of Al's fdbw,some fish trading and selling,and Brandon gave a presentation on how to ship fish.
So what I geuss Im saying is baby steps.

Well the NADA show in Dallas was mainly just JIm, Jerry, and myself. The one in Austin will probably just hve a core of 4 or 5. You always have other people to help but the core does not have to be very large. I hope to see all of ya'll down here in June. We can talk about what it takes and give you some behind the scene stuff...LOL.

As you all know I was trying to clear out a few unnecessary things, well that didn't seem to work out to well. It appears my stock of plastic airstones grew, I see a couple "new" buckets sitting around, and there are a couple strange lids here now too. Add to that that I bought another heater from Brandon and net net I probably added to my inventory.

The fish we brought back from Brandon are gorgeous! They have settled into their temporary tank & doing well.

Hey I just wanted to add that big thanks to Cozy for allowing us to intrude and for his instructions that corrected googles instructions which lead me to the boomies. Allwin I really enjoyed talking with you also. Looking forward to snapping up a couple little ones from you and talking more about tanks which should be dead in all rights but manage to survive. Oh remember those nitrate readings I mentioned, that was after I refilled the tank, that may be why so low. I did not measure it at its amazon lows.


Coree, gotta say your camera take amazing photos.. I use a very old 50mm lens, manual, very nice lens, 1:4 I beleive, no flash allows for a lot of light to come into the camera. Flash washes everything, no shadows.

Dawn if you take pics with your phone, email them to yourself then save to your hard drive. From there you can upload them to Photobucket.

On another note...the beautiful fish I got from Brandon are doing great. The pair laid eggs in their quarantine tank. They are now in they're own 90 gallon tank. Eating good & absolutely beautiful!!
