Hi i am new to discus, have been reading this forum for past half a year at least.

i just brought home into my 100 galln planted four five inch discus. They arent shy and stay in fron corner, but to better help them get used to new home should i turn off the lights? And should i feed them tonight or not? My tank params are ok, four cories live there for some time now. Ph 7.4, temperature 87 fahrenheit, 31 celcius.

Here are pics of new fish in this thread here in planted tank section. http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?t=111638

Does not really matter on the lights. You can do either, but why do you have it so hot? 82 degrees is fine and you do not need to really worry with your ph.

The breeder she bought if from in russia, told her to acclimate/quarantene fish in 33 degree celcius for a week, so she kept them in 33, i got them today and she told me i could do 31 till they get used , then i probsbly will do 30

I would do 28, if you are not trying to breed them the temp does not need to be that high.

Ok guys, i will lower temp to 30 first thing tomorrow morning. Then 29. How about their size, are they adults or sub-adults? I couldnt get their age either, she blunted a bs like three months old, she doesnt know. I will try to get in touch with their breeder. Btw, i twice tried to feed them in very small portions dry food, they dont eat yet- however, they dont run away from me either, theybapproach glass and kinda watch me:)

Hard to guess on the age...I would guess somewhere between 6 months and 18 months....LOL.

Turk will probably work. Without talking to the breeder it is impossible to know exactly right now.
