Like the title says. I will be looking for about 10 wild looking discus to house in a 220 gallon aquarium.
Thanks :)

Clay, check out Discus Hans. He has three domestic strains which look like wild discus. He is a sponsor here.

Hans caries Tefes. They are bred and raised in Germany by Stendker. Contact him and check his web site. John K. (snookn21) sells real wilds. He just posted some current inventory on SD. He expects Teres soon or next week. NOTE: When John has the Tefes you can probably buy them but you cannot get them for I would guess at least two weeks because he conditions them. (He treats them if they have disease or parasites before he ships them.) I have purchased from both and I will buy from both again possibly soon.

Thanks for the info. I plan to keep them at a pH of 7.8 (no interest in breeding), so I am a little leery of actual wilds.

I don't mind doing lots of water changes, but messing with pH is not something I want to do.

Not that is matters but ph has very little to do with breeding. It is the hardness of the water that matters....it is also where the confusion comes from. In soft water the ph will naturally fall unless you change a lot of it.

Good luck.

I see you are in Texas. Are you going to NADA in Austin (I assume so by your signature). I may go as well, I can probably get some good deals at that auction if I can wait that long. I also go to the Houston auctions.

I will be there...don't really want to e since I am the show chairman for NADA it is required....LOL.

In all honesty NADA is the best thing that a discus hobbyist can do. You will have a blast and learns tons of neat information. Hope to see you there.
