I just sent an email to my RO dealer. Im planning to capture the water in a barrel and place a boosterpump in between. I wonder if this will work. If so no waste water. What do you lot think.

Well you can run your waste water again but it will become more and more inefficient. If you do not have any waster water where do you expect the "hardness" to go?

Personally I use my "waster" water for all of my non-breeding tanks. I have done so for years.

Better solution is the connection f thw ro units, so the waste water form the 1st goes to the second ro. This way you can achieve 2:4 in favour of waste water or 50% effiecency. There is also an expensive 300$+ ro on market, which produces more than 1000 liters of osmosis water per day and has 1:1 ratio of ro versus waste water.

Do you have a yard? My freaking water bill is crazy expensive in the summer :(

Hey john, do you mean that you put waste water into age barrel?

I have 7 330 gallon water containers that I use for my change water. 5 of them catch the "waste" water and I use that for my water changes on all of my non-breeding fish.

Good to know it works!!! It's kinda waste to put "waste" water down the drain!lol

I have been doing research on RO systems and I have found it difficult to pin-point how much water each system "wastes". Is there a certain key term it is called that I am just missing? I'm thinking of buying an RO system for our home for drinking water, but having the waste go down the drain seems an aweful waste.
