Does anyone know of a brine shrimp hatchery that will not stink up the whole basement? I am currently using a DIY 2 liter bottle upside down with an open top and air running into it. Is there a better setup that is more enclosed, preferably DIY. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Only reason I ask is because my wife is pregnant so her sense of smell is off the charts.

Try a plastic jar and drill a hole in the lid for the airline....like a peanutbutter jar...

I used to use hatching decaps in a cone hatcher from brineshrimpdirect.com and it didn't stink... Just gave it a good rinse in between batches of brine shrimp.

Off topic- check out what newly hatched brine shrimp look like under a microscope ;) (well... Their silhouettes...)

LOL pregnant wife is gonna be tricky no doubt, congrats and good luck! As Melissa said - decaps will probably work for you, please consider purchasing from Brine Shrimp Direct as they are a NADA sponsor.

Thanks!
Already have! ... They hook me up with a bunch of sample to try as well. Next order I am going to drive there because it is only 30 minutes away.
