There is an established social hierarchy in my tank amongst the discus. However, from time to time, some of the more outgoing discus may hide for a day or two then pop right back into their original spot on the list. Why do they do that? Did they get into a fight and pout for awhile? There is no rhyme or reason to it. Just very random acts of shyness, then like they're manic, right back to normal.

Yes, it happens to my discus all the time. I think that the pecking order has been established and then while looking at the tank it seems that the entire order has changed! It is fascinating however! I find that is part of the attraction of having discus because no one discus personality is alike and with there seem to be mood changes particularly when it is not food time and when I am watching from afar and not close to the tank.

Yep, it's a pecking order that has been established. .........

All of my pets are crazy. They get that from their parents. Lol.
