April Shipment from Lawrence

[Chicago Discus]

Hello Guys,

The April shipment from Lawrence will be here very soon and ready for purchase. Lawrence has selected a very nice group from his farm for the April shipment and we are anticipating their arrival. As soon as the discus settle in our hatchery we will post Tank videos and photos. The sizes and strains will be posted here along with photos of incoming discus. The photos that we post from Lawrence or from us are not altered in any way. What you see is the actual fish that you will be purchasing.

Lawrence measures by the body size only not including the tail so keep that in mind when looking at the sizes. The tail will add an inch or so to the actual fish. We will list the body size only not tail included.

We really like to use FedEx as we are given a discount by them and we share that discount with you guys. The Discus will be delivered to your door before 10:30 A.M. to most places in the U.S. We will ship Airport to Airport via Delta Cargo but we have found that the cheaper way is FedEx overnight Priority.

All our Discus are Guaranteed Live Arrival and we will maintain communication with you and FedEx throughout the whole process. You will be given a tracking number so you can follow the Discus on their journey to your location.

The best way to communicate with Chicago Discus is Via Email at chicagodiscus@att.net we have a business line 312-622-0055. If there is no answer on the business line it usually means that we are in the Hatchery working with the Discus. Please leave a message on the Line and we will get back to as soon as possible.

It's just a way for the breeder to let people know that they are the selected discus. It all depends on the breeder.......Josie

These High Body Brilliant Turq's (http://www.luckytropical.com.my/galleries_detail.asp?code=AAHBT) are pretty sweet. Would you mind finding out how much some of these would cost? I'm stuck on the Turq strain to set up a 240g and those might be it. I really like the Giant A-Flora Turquoise you posted here but I would be interested in bigger. I've raised juvies before and I'd much rather get a full on adult. Keep in mind this is down the road a bit but I am looking at different breeders/sponsors for the fish I want and you've been amongst the top of the list. It would be roughly 16 discus total, one strain, 6"+ hopefully. Let me know here or via PM is fine. Thanks.

Edit: just to clarify, HB does not mean bulldog correct? When I left the hobby a few years back the bulldogs were making a hard push, but I really did not like that type of look. I'm assuming these are just really high bodied but do not have bulldog in them? I really do not like the deformed look that some of the fish seem to show sometimes when trying to establish breeding lines.

Ricardo, size will depend on the total length of the fish with the tail. Lawrence measures the body not the tail so the fish with be bigger if you include the tail. And as far as High body goes they are very different from a bulldog discus and don't share the same features. Send Miranda an email to Chicagodiscus@att.net and pick her brain we have plenty of discus that are 6+ inches for sale.....Josie

Is this dude really skinny or is it my eyes/ lighting? It seems like it is 'concave' instead of the usual 'convex' look. Also, I can see like a depression below the gill plate too...
This dude....LOL....Without having the fish in front of me I cannot give you an honest answer. But with that said he looks fine to me it looks more like shadows in the photo.
