Yes I had 4 of them in a 40 gallon grow out bare bottom tank for 5 months and still have them in the 70 gallon discus planted tank ( good little vacuums).

No I just feed mine flake food.

mine are in bb discus tank for amost 4yrs and don't feed anything special, just discus food / BH mixed.
