I think I saw somewhere in this section That a grey colored "Brute" pail is better, safer, for water aging then the green. Is this correct? If so why?
Also, I have been using those small sump pumps sold at HD and hardware stores. Are they OK or should I be using something else?
Thank you
Jay

The gray Brutes meet the NSF-2 (food safe) specification. Some other Brute items in various colors also meet that specification, but some don't. I don't think gray Brutes are "safer" than any others that meet the NSF#2 spec.
Don't know about the sump pumps, but I'd be wary if they require any lubrication.

Thanks ,Adapted. Appreciate the response. Will go with the grey.
These pumps have a sealed bearing so they don't need lubrication.

I would not use a sump pump. Mag drive pumps are great, and are designed specifically for aquarium use.
