Im no expert but my wife buys lots of discus for her tropical fish shop she started recently.so she buys them small and i grow them out for her as my tanks at home have better facilities.no mater what i do the new a rrival always get picked on no matter what thier size ive had 7cm discus chase around 10cm discus.but they usually settle in as ive seen but the last arrival will allways get chased first.thats why i try add 2 fish at a time so one doesnt gt it all the time.nice fish you gt

There is often aggression against new fish. I read your situation, it is better to buy all your Discus at once but you are buying them to grow out for sale. Buy more! You have 6 Discus in your tank but the more Discus the more the aggression is spread around. In general, unless you have pairs, posters on SD seem to say 5 is the minimum number to have but Discus Hans says 10 is the minimum. I myself do not know the minimum number but I do know it is hard (Foolish?) to argue with Discus Hans!

I have had only 2 for 3 years now and I have had 6 before 20 years ago, the main reason they get along, if you ask me, is they were all introduced at the same time.. Just think of it as a pack of wild dogs, there is always the dominate one in a pack, then comes a new dog, he is going to get his butt kick until he learns real good who is the boss.. I would just keep a eye on him for awhile to make sure he is not getting injured. then let nature take its course. it should work its way out.

I agree with Jerry. As long as they are all eating and water is clean, it should settle down some. It can take several weeks for them to gel. There will almost always be some chasing as it is a form of play as well as aggression. If you are seeing physical injuries, or not eating for a week or more, other measures can be taken.

I do not think that has anything to do with it, its more like "hey this my tank and your the new guy, so this is how it is going to be". but in time thing's can go the other way also when the small one gets bigger he may fight back and become the dominate one, it happen to the 2 that i have now, the smaller of the 2 got bullied, then he got bigger and now he is the boss.. but they get along fine, and I have no other fish in with them.. so Just give it some more time.
