I drove from Mississippi to pick up a very nice Starphire tank without expecting much to look at. But the place is like a miniature (80 acres) theme park. They had 900 gallon discus tanks and quite a variety of other fish. They said the fish side of the operation ws only a few months old, but it is clearly a labor of love from somebody with big ideas.

Their largest discus weren't for sale -- I believe they were Stendker pairs -- but they had a decent assortment of some of Han's juveniles. The big tanks were radically understocked in a good way... probably 150 gallons per fish with lots of roots and branches. It was the best biotope-style presentation I have seen.

Highly recommended if you're anywhere near central Tennessee

I will try to get some photos posted in the next 24 hours... I haven't even looked at the ones I snapped yet.... somehow my aquarium photos are usually disappointing, but maybe I got lucky this time.

I have not been there but they are very nice and helpful on the phone. I wanted a 31" high tank but they told me it was very difficult to clean so I bought a cheaper 25" tank. They had problems in past years if you read about them on the net but nothing bad for years.

My tank is immaculate. Hans is also a satisfied customer of theirs and that says something by itself. I've heard of the complaints you referred to but as you say I believe they are well past that these days.

Hans has a great biotope tank in his fish house.

Jenn, I'm sure everyone would enjoy photos of your tanks and fish. I have a few that I'll be posting that we took yesterday, but my fish photos are usually disappointing...

Jenn, good to see GlassCages as a member. Why don't you contasct Al Sabetta who runs the site about becoming a sponsor? I do not know what it costs or if it is worth it to you but you should look into it. Al posts often as "Brewmaster" followed by a number I think is 13. I am Elliot Silber in NYC and I bought two tanks from you.

Most of my aquariums come from Glass cages. They will work with you in constructing your tank and add holes for bulkheads if needed. A great place to get your aquariums.......Thanks Beth and Jen and the whole glass cages team.....Josie :):):):)

My wife and I drove up to Glass cages only to find they had not reopened since the fire. The owner meet with both of us and gave us a tour of the new area . His name was Tom the area that the tanks were made was setup nicely . He didn't have the fish store open yet but he let my wife and daughter have their pick of any of his angel tanks (Angels made it thru the fire. He also breeds them). We appreciated him taking about 2 hour out of his busy schedule just to let us tour the facility.ni think they are to open first week in February .
