I have about 50 fry with parents in a 20 gal tall. Fry have been free swimming
for about 10 days. Some do eat baby brine that I occasionally squirt into the crowd
of fry that are nursing off the parents slime.

I have a 2 1/2 gallon mounted in a 10 gal with heater in the 10. Is 2 1/2 gal large enough to start with?
Or should I remove the parents and keep the fry in the 20 gal?

Not sure how the jpg will come through.

don't do anything unless the parents seem distressed. You can leave the fry with them from 3-5 weeks.dont occaisionally give them bbs,you should be doing it twice a day since the third day and changing atleast 50% of the water atleast daily.50 is not that big a spawn, shouldnt be a problem.

I always remove the fry and not the parents. At 10 days they should be getting fed BBS twice a day ad should be eating it well by now. As Bill said you can leave them longer but you need to get a bigger tank to raise them in. They need at least a 29 now and will need a 55+ in short order.
