Hey guys.

I have had 2 discus for about 3 weeks now, and they settled in quite quickly. However, they seem very territorial, constantly chasing my http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/18/nadadehu.jpgangel fish around the tank.

Yesterday, I purchased 3 more discus of similar size in the hopes that things would equal out, but both the original discus keep chasing the new ones. The have not let up since I introduced them.

The tank is 3ft. Should I separate the aggressive older one, or let things sort themselves out?

I am scared he may kill the new fish.

Pic 3 - The tank (I have since added 10 java ferns for hiding places)

Thanks
Chris

If the first two are a pair they will chase the others when they have eggs. If not let them sort it out.

and please read up on doing proper quarantine which is very important with all fish but particularly discus.

Tank seems pretty small for that volume of fish. Also discus are cichlids as are your angels. Cichlids are usually fairly aggresive bu nature. Normally it will settle out once a pecking order is set. Alsi you might want to read some in the beginners section. This very question gets asked no less then 4 times a week.
