Hi,

I bought 10 2" Carnation discus 3 weeks ago. About 3 days ago, one of the discus not eating anymore, stay alone at the back of aquarium and its color turn to white.

Can you please let me know what action I should take? I have filled in the questionnaire below.

Problem

1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
problem start happened 3 days ago. it only affect 1 discus. There is nothing unusual happen.

2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).

3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.
only put 1 tablespoon of salt for the past couple of days.

Tank/Water

4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
10 gallon tank. just build 3 weeks ago. 10 2" discus

5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).
90% daily water change

6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?
Tank has been running for 3 weeks. it is bare bottom tank.

7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.
age the water for 24 hours.

8. Parameters and water source;
ph: 6.5, ammonia: 0, Nitrite: 0, Nitrate: <30

What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.
- municipal water 100%

9. Any new fish, plants or inverts added recently.
No

10. Include any pictures or videos you have which shows the symptoms. If you can't add them to this post, please provide a link to them.

I cannot see any biofiltration in the tank? If that is the case then 90% isn't enough, needs to be done twice a day. All of the fish have ragged white edges to their tail fin, this is indicative of poor water quality. I do not believe your test results (sorry not personal) - the fins show ammonia damage. You also don't mention temperature.

10 fish in a 10 gallon tank is too many, even for 2" fish.
