Hi guys,
How do you 'confirm' a pair? I have a Marlboro Red & Tiger Turq cleaning the filter tube together. They have not become territorial yet.
Are pairs confirmed only after the egg fertilized, or just egg laying?
Thanks in advance
Proven would be having wrigglers. Just egg laying would make them an unproven pair. There might be different terminologies and definitions but I think proven/unproven is probably the most used.

Confirmed means you have at least gotten wigglers. BTW, that is not a good pairing. The Malboro is a Pigeon Blood and the Turq isn't. You would end up with very peppered fry.

They are in with 5 other discus. Will wrigglers survive that?
I didn't match them. So, separate the lovers? ;)

It is highly unlikely that they would survive in a community tank. You don't have to separate them. Just don't pursue breeding them.

Will they get depressed to see their offsprings just get eaten?.... like Nemo

Nope. They will just keep trying.
