Some Favorites of mine
1. Salt Lick Barbecue - an experience in itself!
2. Texican - El Paso style Mexican! Love it! They have three locations on Austin!
3. Old Pecan Street Cafe - is a nice one also

As Skip says there are lots of places to try. One thing I would suggest is trying some of the local food trucks as those can really be great. Of course one place that started in a food truck and now has several locations is Torchy Taco's. They are awesome.....and they have a hidden menu...

Is there a type of food you like best and we can help locate a great place for it. I would agree with Nicole about Salt Lick they are awesome and they slow smoke all the meats over a fire pit.

Is Salt Lick anywhere near the hotel? Seems like I saw it on Dinners, Dives and Drive Ins and it looked good.

21 miles - roughly 30 minutes (the roads are hilly out there) to the original location from the hotel!

Worth the drive if you come early or stay late :) in my opinion. Not sure if it's worth missing a speaker session to go but worth it if your there before or after the actual show stuff!
