Thanks for the compliments!
I'll pass on the plants. Been there, done that and I just don't want the hassle.
But you are right, plants would make a big difference

If the reason you don't keep plants is that you are worried about keeping them alive just go with low tech plants

You don't need any CO2 or ferts or high lights.

You can have crypts, vals etc in the substrate. Without ferts or good substrate they will still survive but their growth will be slow

If don't want plants in the sub just tie plants on the woods
You can't kill anubias and ferns

You can have floating plants too. These are the best to absorb nitrates etc and keep the tds low so clean up the water. They grow fast and can use atmospheric CO2

Totally respect a plant free zone!!ive failed more with plants than without so I'm a hypocrite when I say a few splashes of Annubia or java fern on the wood, would make me melt in happiness :) :o

Love the wood. Think it looks even more amazing in person. Cannot really feel the size of the tank in the picture.:)
I love the look without any plants myself. Great job and thanks for sharing.

That is not the usual fish tank... for sure. I'm guessing you dont have to do water changes very often. Great stuff

Thank you so much for all the compliments! It is a labor of love as you all know. I actually do water changes quite often. At least every 3rd day I change 150g. 1/3 RO and 2/3 tap. But the tank itself is in a dedicated fish room with all the necessary features that make 150g water change doable in under 30 minutes.
It houses 15 discus which I purchased from Kenny's May shipment as well as a school of Congo tetras ( about 80) , 3 mated pairs of German Blue Rams and a few bristle-nose plecos which I've not seen since the day they were added.
I'm thinking of adding some apistos.

Add some Geophaguses like the Tapajo or altiforons. There you have a very happy tank :) at least that is my dream tank in the future. I think some solid discus would also add more details and pattern.
