View Full Version : Chunky white+black poop

Hi, My discus sometime poop out white feces mix with black and sometime white alone. The fish is still eating normally and everything seem fine this happen once in awhile and this is not those white stringly poop (hex). Should i be worry about it? Thank you :D

I wouldn't worry unduly. Make sure you keep up with tank maintenance.

It can sometimes show when the fish are stressed, which is why maintenance is important. Many people say it is stomach lining, it may be, but it is hard to be sure, diet has an impact too.

Thank you Paul, I think i should invest in a microscope since i has about 100 discus in this central system with many tank. Do you mind helping me look at this one, will this work? never use and never own one before just thought it would be good to get a correct diagnosis instead of gussing. Thanks alot

That scope looks ok. I use Brunel microscopes, something like this one is good http://www.brunelmicroscopes.co.uk/fishdiseases.html for monocular, binocular are easier to use for prolonged amounts of time.

Lol yes binocular are easier to use but not easy on pocket at all. Anyway thank you very much.
