Remember saftey 1ST never leave them plug strip on the floor ! Thought I would scale back and just have enough tanks to keep track of and the overflow always happens. Just thank the fishtank gods not dieing tonight. Just lucky I was there when it all started again.

You might want to think about getting a power strip with a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). If it's working properly, it will trip when wet, and reduce the risk of electrocution.

Damn... Glad to hear nothing bad happen buddy... As suggested those are some options to invest n and also movie the power strip up.

Can you mount the strip on the side of the tank stand or wall and get it off the floor?

I have my power strip mounted on the back support of my tank stand. it is off the floor by 12 inches and easier for cable maintenance. all the cables have a drip loop on them.

I'm glad things were not worse than they were! But, thank you for the insight. I do make sure to have the drip loops but have never thought of putting my "strip" up off the floor or even getting one with the (GCFI). This is info everyone could use.
