Hi everyone, This question might have been asked quite a few times. Out of nowhere my discus decided to pair off and start laying eggs. The female is a Champagne white discus from Stendenker and the male is an Orange bodied yellowish head mainly orange all over. The male is quite large from a breeder in Birmingham UK.

2 questions I have one perhaps quite premature. What colour combinations do you think I might end up with? Koi's? scabby colours or ??

The other question whilst oi witnessed the female running up and down the filter pipe laying eggs I did not see the male doing lots/enough of the same i.e. releaing the sperm.

I could not watch them all day sadly the family was driving me mad as usual.

Well I am sure I will have lots of other questions lets see what time brings.

Cheers

Hello Adrian,
Welcome to breeding discus! Let the fun begin.
I'll let others guess as to the outcome of your pair, but you'll just have to wait and see if the eggs hatch to know whether they were fertilized. Until then you won't know if you've got a male or not. It could take them several tries to get it right before you know. Read a lot in this section and you'll get a lot of good basic information.
