Hey everyone, so my 75 gallon is just about cycled, im getting 6 or 7 Discus.

i was wondering what should i buy here to make my water changes easy and fast as possible? i work long hours at my job, and when i get home i want to quickly change 90% of my water in a jiff!

i also plan on getting a barrel to house my water so i can pump it back into the tank.

here is the website im doing my order from

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/fish-supplies/aquarium-pumps/ps/c/3578/4587

you will see the variety of pumps, i just want the best bang for my buck, i also want one that wont suck up my sand substrate.

i was leaning towards this one

Model 1250

any suggestions are appreciated.

I think you'll find that pump to be slower than you'd like. Personally I like the Mag Drives, and they're cheaper as well.

I think I have 7's.

For water changes I use a utility pump purchased at Lowes. It does the job quick.

I've had years of trouble-free service from my mag-drive pumps.

I have a mag-drive for pumping water to my tanks. I use a 9.5 for that. I have a 7 in one of my sumps.

I have both the Eheim 1262 and Mag drive 9.5 and like the Eheim for easier maintenance.
