I have my water ageing in the basement that I have to pump about 10-15 feet up and 50 feet long to my tank.
I have tried to use the Tetra Pond Pump 550gph with no success.
I want to see if anyone have a better suggestion before I give the Tetra 1000gph a try.
Thanks for any suggestions ;)

Read the specs on the pump. They should indicate the pump's ability to achieve your height and distance. Distance is not as much a problem as the 15' height. The specs say something like "height limit"- be sure it is more than what you need.

I've seen this one recommended. It claims a 15' height for suction. The larger the hose=the faster the flow. I use 1" id (inner diameter) vinyl hose which is really fast. Get the pump first and see what kind of connections it has. Lowes/Home Depot has various adapters to connect hoses of various sizes. The 1" id hose is kind of pricey, but it's worth the cost.

I have the same setup and use this pump http://www.harborfreight.com/13-horsepower-submersible-clear-water-pump-with-float-switch-69296-8704.html submersed in my storage barrel. It pumps straight up 7 feet to a cpvc pipe that turns 90degress and runs over my basement ceiling to a valve at the top of the basement steps. I screw a standard white drinking water hose to that valve and run that hose into my tank so all in all a little less than 50 feet - probably 40. I can post pictures if you like. I think Ryan posted some instructions in the water works section for how to calculate the amount of head lift you need. You have to measure lift distance (elevation), straight line distance and the number of curves or elbows. There is a formula for all this to make sure you have enough head lift from a pump.

I have the pump plugged into a remote controlled power switch like this one http://www.homedepot.com/p/SVAT-Wireless-Remote-Control-Power-Outlet-Outdoor-On-Off-Switch-with-100-ft-Range-WRC101/203500370 and once I'm all hooked up - I just push a button and re-fill my 55 with about 45 gallons in about 10 minutes.
