So my blue diamond pair has been spawning regularly but it's only second time where I have wigglers. My first attempt wasn't very successful. A lot of fry had partially missing dorsal fin. Anyone thinks it's genetic or mostly related to water conditions? Pair is about 18 months. Tank is 40 breeder. WC used to be everyday 20gallons but now I do more less frequently. Thanks for any input.

When I said more less frequently I meant bigger water change less frequently. I'd say 80% 2 or 3 times a week

Thanks for the fast reply. When do you think I should start doing WC? Once the get free swimming?

The vast majority of developmental issues that people see are because of water quality. For years I use to wonder why people said to stop doing water changes when a pair has eggs/wigglers/fry but then I figured it out....They didn't have a clue what the hell they were talking about.......I keep the same 50% or more water change schedule about 360 days a year....everybody misses a few days.

Could be genetic or water condition or both. I have seen Blue Diamonds with cellophane dorsal and tail, from a distance it looks as they have no dorsal.

Ok I'm going to do daily 50% water changes and see if it gets better this time.
