sponge filter + magnum?

I'm planning on setting up a 50 gallon tank I just purchased. The stand has narrow doors so I can't fit my sunsun 304b inside. Will running 2 large sponge filters and a magnum 250 be sufficient filtration for two discus?

Yes the sponge filters alone would be good

2 sponges and a magnum 250 will be fine.
