It would depend what you are trying to protect them from. In a clean tank you should not need anything. If I had to use one I would start with mb.

I sow on forum that lots off breeders use differently mb and formalin.I never don't use formalin but I would like to try to see how its work.

In this article http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/vm/vm06100.pdf formalin is used as a parasiticide and can be used to control fungi on fish eggs in high concentrations. Based on this I would suggest staying with MB.

about an hour after laying the eggs, I take the MB in a suringe, and release it directly on the eggs
I don't remember the dosage now, but it is written on the bottle
your whole tank will be blue and that is ok, it will go away with WC

That's what hes saying.I use to use mb to help with the fungus,and Ive learned a lot from John,amoungst many others,I haven't used it in years.

I always use mb but I will stop like john say and see without mb what will gonna bee with eggs.
