What would you use for your tank background color Clear , Blue or Blace? I starting my first Discus tank and buying new tank. It will be a display tank for Adults and grow-outs. Want color that would bring out the colors of the discus. I will be using Freshwater LED lighting.

You can use adhesive vinyl tapes as background .

Depends on what kind of environmental set-up you'd like to achieve, and your color preference.
In a planted discus display tank, I've tried many color schemes, but my top preference is a medium/darkish blue background with white pool filter sand as substrate. In my view it brings out the fish & plants colorations the best.
But I have avoided pigeon-blood based fish, which are my least favorite, and prefer to keep solid colored discus.

White is generally good for dicuss. They look brighter at white background.

84168blue in this tank works for these two discus. This is an acrylic tank. Came with this background color and sand colored bottom. Rufus

White or a light color will help reduce peppering in PB's if you are worried about that.

From my experience, discus fish fill better when 3 sides of the aquarium are not clear. black or any dark color can make their color slightly darker, and of course pepper in BP
