New York City Water

Can anyone confirm if New York City's water is too hard and average PH? Any special need to treat NYC water supply for Discus?

Is your goal to breed discus? If your answer is no, typically you can acclimate discus to live in almost any tap water conditions. Of course there are exceptions, but being that you are in NY, I expect that regulations make it so that the tap water is usable.

According to this, Manhattan residents have prime water out the tap for discus breeding.... 60 TDS or less, LOL! Lucky people...

Back in the 90's Marc Weiss breed and sold discus from his Manhattan apartment, so I assume the water is fine.
