Hope someone could help,

I would like to replace ONE of my current discus (which is stunted) with a new discus(12cm-14cms). I have a group of 13 discus in total in my main tank.

Obviously i will be getting the discus straight from the supplier (stendker) but I would still like to quarantine this new discus for a few weeks. Will the discus do OK alone in a quarantine tank for a few weeks???? Discus don't really do well if not in a group, hence my worry.

Thanks for your help,

SGB

Short answer is yes, it should be fine. Would it be preferable to order more than one? Probably, but the positives of QT far outweigh that of the negatives........HTH.

Discus are a shoaling fish but it should be fine in quarantine, which is a must.

I'd use a 30 but at minimum a 20. It depends on size of discus

Thanks guys.

Much appreciated.

If I am getting the fish directly from Stendker...do u think 3 week quarantine will be enough?

thanks,

Hi Steve, here we generally recommend a minimum of six weeks in quarantine.
