Grow out guideline

Hi everyone I was wondering is there is a guideline for growing out fry, like 1.5 inch fry and grow them to 3.5 inch how many per gallon, lets say I have 60 fry 1.2 inch put them in a 29 gal till they are 2.5 or start with 40 gal then change them again or put in 100 gal tank?

Well normally an adult is 1 per 10g average adult size say 6". I normally keep around 50 per 30g till they over 1". The main thing is the water change schedule I don't split them into groups any less than 12 till they getting to 3"
