Hello folks ,

please excuse my ignorance in the following question.

Is it wise to soak drift wood in my pool before it is placed inside my tank?

My logic being most of the color will come out after a few days.
The pool has a filter , water moves and it should do a good job
with all the chlorine that's in the pool water.
It will probably kill any parasites or similar in the wood.

I could wash out with hot water afterwards and dry.
Then soak again in just treated tap water.
I have read a few blogs and the mention of prime to eliminate any chemicals on wood from pool was an idea.

thanks in advance for all your advice.

Personally I would not risk it as not sure what other chemicals may be in the pool water. My concern is having the driftwood possibly hold some chemical residue and release that back into a tank at a later date.
