Looking for some advice / suggestions. As a little back ground I kept FW ciclids for many years then switched to SW for probably 4-5 yrs. I have been out of the hobby for probably 8yrs now and my sons fascination with fish has sparked my interest.
I have a 75g tank that I would like to keep 5-6 discus in along with 2-3 small schools of different species of barbs/tetras/rams.
I need all the equipment ie: filter, lights (LED), heater, stand... all the goodies.
I'm looking for filtration advice. I have the Rena XPL picked out, but I toyed with the idea of a sump/refugium, however coming with a bad experience of having one past I have been considering a small hang on style.
What do you guys think of a Rena XPL along with a small hang on refugium? Would the refugium be to any benefit?
Any other advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
