I recently purchased one of these nitrate meters, and I am thrilled to have it, although it is expensive. I had been trying to "guesstimate" the color of my API test tube, and it appears I was way off. I thought my nitrates were about 15-20 ppm, and I had been very concerned about the health of my tank. After running my 1st test it appears my nitrates in my tank are a much more acceptable 4.7. The great thing about the meter is I will now be able to more accurately monitor the trends in my nitrates.
