I get fed up with these calls, have been getting more and more of them. The latest seems to be either for a Mr. Roberts ?? who can never, ever have lived here (I'm the 1st owner of the house), a lifestyle survey or green energy ... the last one I had went a bit like this ...

Caller: Is that Mr. Roberts?
Me: No.
Caller: Is Mr. Roberts there?
Me: I don't know ...
Caller: Are you the householder?
Me: No, I just look after the hamsters, but ...
Caller: Hamsters?
Me: Yes, but can you help me with them?
Caller: I'm sorry I'm not sure I know what you mean?
Me: Well one got out and got stuck in the dishwasher
Caller: Dishwasher? Sir I'd like to talk to Mr. Roberts please
Me: He's in the dishwasher ...
Caller: Mr. Roberts is in the dishwasher?
Me: Yes, he's my hamster ...

click ....

lmao. May as well make light of the situation. I hate those calls. I get a call at least 3 times a week for refinancing my home.

Lol!! :D That's great. If I don't immediately hang up on those calls, I have a little fun too ;)

This is too hilarious!! I do basically the same but slightly different. I ask them what is their favorite Metallica song. When they say they don't have one or don't like Metallica I start raving how Metallica is my favorite band, all they have achieved, the name of the albums, my favorite song from each album, etc. Until I hear a click.

I never answer calls from a number that's not in my directory. If it's urgent, the caller will leave a message and I will call back. Problem solved.

I do. With kids in school who sometimes have to call from the office or from a teacher's phone it is impossible not to answer. If it is an emergency, by the time they leave the message, I listen to it, call them back, it might be too late.

National do not call lists work great for me.. and on my smart phone...thank god for the Mr.Number app.. flags spam calls, set any number to spam and have it hung up on or go to voice mail.
.I love it.

My question is why would they think a hamster could talk? or are they Dr. Doolittle
