Hi i recently purchased a few hydro filters. I've noticed that there is no airline tube going down into the filter beyond the strainers and into the base area. I have a few Azoo sponges filter and they provide a means for the air to get deep inside the sponge channel via a built in aifr tube. With the hydro filter the air from the air pump comes out at the very top of the filter. This doesn't seem right. ive added my own air tubing to the hydro filter so the air comes out at the bottom of the filter, hence it would seem to me that the whole sponge is drawing in water. has anyone dealt with this? just wondering if it really mattered.

Some do like you by adding a small amount of airline tubing, with an attached airstone, to make finer bubble, which may or may not draw up more water, but it makes them bubble a LOT quieter...Bill
