Needing thoughts on the best gravel/sand vac for a planted tank - not too strong - don't really want to use as a siphon to remove water - pretty sure would prefer battery or electric operated.

Have been looking at the TOM TM1096 sells for about $10 including shipping and siphoned water runs through filter bag..... says will work in up to about 24" and my tank is about 21..... (note some say you can put a hose on it and.....)

Sounds about perfect if has the right strength or adjustable strength suction, reasonable battery life and .......

Any thoughts on this or competing products........ My planted discus tank and quarantine need an easier way to vac the bottoms.

I have known a few members here stand by the Eheim Gravel Vac (http://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Gravel-Cleaner-Sludge-Extractor/dp/B003C5U2SU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423957142&sr=8-1&keywords=eheim+gravel+cleaner) to clean out their gravel aquariums.
